Last night I watched "Sita sings the blues". It is a beautiful film. The animation and colors are excellent. The film is a very warm and lively interpretation of the Ramayana, told by three of its characters who sometimes are a bit confused about names and events and sometimes think they are confused when they try to tell this peculiar story.
It is very interesting that Nina Paley, the artist behind the film, decided to allow a free distribution, store and exhibition of the film and its characters; what she calls "free culture".
Visit www.sitasingstheblues.com to watch or download the movie. At the web page you will find information about the making of the film, the calendar of comunity screenings around the world and you can also leave a donation for the artist to pay the debts she acquired on making the film.
Around here the spring ended up with cold winds and gray sky so having to wear socks on the first day of summer was quite disappointing.... But today the sun is back again!!!
And the flowers have a sparkling coat, almost plastic, that makes them shine like topazes on the grass. Please sun, stay!
the fastest and most delicious. Recipe for 1 person: 1 handful of spinach 1/4 fennel bulb 1 banana 1 spoon hemp seeds 1 dash salt cinnamon some water mix slowly and then very fast (for lots of bubbles!) watch out for the green mustache... sometimes I prepare it with chard, celery, pears, any combination is fine.
How is the weekend going? Here we have nothing but gray skies and an arctic wind making me wear a scarf. So the perfect plan is to get comfortable and enjoy 1 hour and a half of "Home". A jewel! Precious colours and textures. A precious planet and the painful devastation we are capable of.
"...hay noches que no puedo dormir, hay noches que no duermo...." "... there are nights I can't sleep, there are nights I don't sleep...." says Charly.
Therefore my morning ritual won't happen and the day extends as nebulous as the night before...
